SUMMARY:Mākua to Kaʻena & Back
DESCRIPTION:This is a round trip paddle along the rugged leeward coast from Mākua Beach to Kaʻena Point and back. Probably too early for a humpback whale encounter\, but maybe an early arrival will show up. \n\n\n\nHopefully conditions will be similar to last year when we had a fabulous dolphin send off at launch. \n\n\n\nMeet at Mākua Beach at 8:30 am. SUMMARY:Windbag Regatta
DESCRIPTION:Join the fun\, come race with the crew as we sail from Hawaii Kai to Wai‘alae Beach using any wind catchment system. Paddling is allowed and there will be a fabulous pot luck and coveted finisher’s prizes for various categories and one person will be crowned “Windbag of the Year”! You need not enter to participate\, but you must be entered for a chance to win some great prizes\, which will be door prize style. So\, join us\, or just paddle along\, but don’t stay home! \n\n\n\nEveryone is invited to bring a dish to share for a post-race potluck at Wai‘alae Beach Park. Bring your camp chair too. Meet at Maunalua Bay Beach Park at 8:00 am for a 8:30 am carpool. Launch about 11:00 am. (depending on conditions\, may be earlier or later\, race director will determine on race day) – 5 mi. \n\n\n\nEntry Donation: $10 early member entry donation\, $20 non-member entry donation.
